Charles Martin Caverly was born in Barrington, Strafford County, New Hampshire on 15 November 1860, son of John Stickney and Nancy Jane (Ricker) Caverly. He died of heart disease in Fort Payne, Alabama 14 July 1890 and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery in Dover, Strafford County, New Hampshire.1
Charles was a contractor living in Dover. At the time of his death he was working in Fort Payne, Alabama.2
